Ingredients to make Vada Curry :
- 1/2 cup – Channa dhal
- 3 – Red chillies
- 1/4 tsp – Fennel Seeds
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- 1 – Onion chopped
- 2 – Tomatoes chopped
- 2 – Green Chillies slit
- 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp – Sambar powder
- 1 inch – Cinnamon stick
- 2 – Cloves
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- 1 sprig – Curry Leaves
- 2 tbsp – Fresh Coriander
How to make Vada Curry :

Soak for 3 hours, channa dal with red chillies and grind to a coarse paste without adding much water, transfer to a bowl, add salt 1/2 tsp.
- Rub oil in idli moudls and make into small vada shaped and steam for 10 minutes or until done. Remove from heat and allow it to cool.

Heat oil in a pan, fry the cloves, cinnamon sticks, add onions, curry leaves, green chillies and saute well.

Add tomatoes, turmeric powder, salt and cook till it softens. Add 2 cups of water, sambar powder and bring to a boil.
- Crumble the vadas and add to the gravy, cover and cook in medium heat for another 3 – 4 minutes or until the gravy thickens turn off the flame. Add fresh coriander and serve hot with set dosa and idli.
