Ingredients for Som Tam :

  • 1 medium green papaya
  • 2 chopped tomato
  • 7 birds eye chillies
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup chopped green beans
  • 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 3 tablespoon palm sugar
  • 2 tablespoon crushed peanuts

How to Make Som Tam :

  1. To prepare this easy salad, wash the papaya and peel it. Then, shred it and set aside.
  2. Add the garlic cloves and green chillies to a pestle and mortar and roughly pound them.
  3. Then, add the chopped beans and pound till they are completely crushed. Add the tomatoes and pound them as well.
  4. To prepare the dressing, take a bowl to combine the dark soya sauce, lime juice and sugar.
  5. Transfer the diced papaya into a salad bowl and add the crushed ingredients to it along with the peanuts.
  6. Now, pour the dressing over the salad and toss well.
  7. Serve chilled.
