Ingredients to make Maharastrian Pithala Bhakari :
- Bengal Gram Flour 1/4 cup
- Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
- Asafetida pinch
- Garlic cloves 1-2 crushed
- Turmeric powder little more than 1/4 tsp
- Curry Leaves 8-10
- Onion 1 finely chopped
- Green Chilli 1-2 finely chopped
- Coriander leaves 2 tbsp finely chopped
- Ghee 2 tbsp
- Water 2 cups
- Salt to taste
How to make Maharastrian Pithala Bhakari :
Mix besan with 1 cup water nicely, so that their should be no lumps.
Heat Ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds, hing and cumin seeds. Let them crackle.
Add crushed garlic,curry leaves, turmeric powder and onions. Saute till translucent.
Add half of chopped coriander and saute for half a minute.
Add salt and remaining water. Let them boil.
Pour in besan mix and keep stirring till the mixture thickens and turns little translucent.
Switch off the flame and serve hot with roti or rice.
