How to make Maharastrian Pithala Bhakari

    Ingredients to make Maharastrian Pithala Bhakari :

  • Bengal Gram Flour 1/4 cup
  • Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Asafetida pinch
  • Garlic cloves 1-2 crushed
  • Turmeric powder little more than 1/4 tsp
  • Curry Leaves 8-10
  • Onion 1 finely chopped
  • Green Chilli 1-2 finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves 2 tbsp finely chopped
  • Ghee 2 tbsp
  • Water 2 cups
  • Salt to taste

    How to make Maharastrian Pithala Bhakari :

  • Mix besan with 1 cup water nicely, so that their should be no lumps.
  • Heat Ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds, hing and cumin seeds. Let them crackle.
  • Add crushed garlic,curry leaves, turmeric powder and onions. Saute till translucent.
  • Add half of chopped coriander and saute for half a minute.
  • Add salt and remaining water. Let them boil.
  • Pour in besan mix and keep stirring till the mixture thickens and turns little translucent.
  • Switch off the flame and serve hot with roti or rice.
