How to make Maharastrian appe

    Ingredients to make Maharastrian appe :

  • Left over Idli batter 4-5 cups
  • 1 finely chopped Onion
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 6-7 Curry Leaves
  • 2-3 Green Chillies
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • Salt as per taste

    How to make Maharastrian appe :

  • Take the idli batter in a deep vessel.
  • In the tadka pan, heat 1 tbsp of oil and add onion, chilli, cumin seeds and mustard seeds then add this tadka directly in the idli batter. Mix it well.
  • Now heat the appe pan and put some oil in it, then drop the idli batter with a spoon in it.
  • Cover the pan for 5-7 minutes on a medium flame.
  • The spongy appe is ready to be served with coconut chutney or ketchup.
