How to make Japanese Steamed Cake

    Ingredients to make Japanese Steamed Cake :

  • 250 gm self raising Flour(superfine baking Flour)
  • 3 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tablespoon castor Sugar
  • Eggs
  • 2 tablespoon cold milk
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable Oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 2 glasses of Water

    How to make Japanese Steamed Cake :

  • Pour the water in a steamer,cover and bring it to boil
  • Meanwhile put all the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well
  • Add oil, milk, vanilla and condensed milk one after the other and fold in well
  • Add the eggs next and whisk hard/well until the sugar is well   dissolved in the batter                        
  • Finally sieve in the flour bit by bit to create a gooey cake mixture

  • The mixture should be like a normal cake mix(not very runny, but not too thick either)                              
  • Pour in the batter upto half the capacity of your mould
  • place the cake moulds in the steamer and steam cook for 10-12 minutes on Low heat
  • check by inserting a knife or toothpick, to see if the steamed cakes are ready                                              
  • Take off the steamer once done and let cool and then unmould
  • Enjoy warm if you like freshly steamed cakes or refrigerate them to have them chilled. Enjoy!
