How to make Beetroot dhokla (in Idli Moulds)

    Ingredients to make Beetroot dhokla  :

  • 1 cup besan ( bengal Gram Flour )
  • 1 cup sour Curd
  • 1/2 beetroot grated
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • Juice of half Lemon
  • 1 tsp fruit Salt
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp green Chilli paste
  • Salt as per taste
  • Water as required
  • FOR TEMPERING – 2 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 2 Green Chilli cut in halves
  • Some Curry Leaves

    How to make Beetroot dhokla :

  • Combine the yellow gram flour and curd , add water for dhokla consistency .
  • Add grated beetroot , ginger green chilli paste , Salt , oil and lemon juice and mix well .
  • Meanwhile grease idli moulds and put water on steamer for boiling .
  • Now add eno salt into the dhokla batter and immediately pour the batter into the idli moulds .
  • Steam it for about 15 – 20 minutes or till dhokla are cooked . When dhoklas are cooked keep aside .
  • Now take a pan add oil , add mustard seeds , when seeds start crackle add green chilli and curry leaves . After 2 minutes turn off the gas .
  • Pour this tempering over the prepared dhoklas . Serve with chutney of your choice .
