How to Cook Rajgira Kheer

Ingredients for Rajgira Kheer :

  • 500 gm amaranth
  • 1 1/2 litre milk
  • 200 gm sugar
  • 50 gm almonds
  • 50 gm cashews
  • 20 gm raisins
  • 5 gm green cardamom
  • 10 gm pistachios

How to Cook Rajgira Kheer :

  1. To make your very own Rajgira Kheer, take a pan and heat it over a low flame. Then slowly add the amaranth seeds (Rajgira) in this pan. When all the seeds gave popped then take them out of the pan in a plate.
  2. Now take a heavy bottomed pan and pour the milk in it, boil the milk in the pan. Once the milk has boiled, put the sugar and stir while it gets dissolved in the milk. Then add the prepared amaranth seeds in the milk and continue to cook at a medium flame. Make sure to stir time and again.
  3. Cook this milk and amaranth seeds for another 10-12 mins. Make sure the seeds are cooked. Then, add chopped almonds, cashews, raisins and cardamom powder. Simmer for about 5-6 mins.
  4. After the time has passed, garnish the kheer with pistachios and serve. Your Rajgira Kheer is ready.
