Ingredients for Katte Pongali :

  • 400 gm rice
  • salt as required
  • 2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cashews-roasted
  • 400 gm moong dal
  • water as required
  • 3 tablespoon ghee
  • 4 curry leaves

How to Cook Katte Pongali :

  1. To make this easy recipe, you need a few simple ingredients. Wash the rice and moong dal. Drain the extra water and cook in a pressure cooker till you hear 3 whistles.
  2. Now, heat ghee in a pan over medium flame and add cumin seeds, curry leaves, black pepper and salt in it.
  3. Add the cooked rice and dal in the pan and cook well for 10 minutes. Take out in bowls and garnish with roasted cashews. Serve hot!
