Ingredients for Kadalai Paruppu Payasam :
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 2 tablespoon milk
- 5 tablespoon ghee
- 10 cashews
- 10 raisins
- 5 green cardamom
- 1/2 cup sago
- 1/2 cup jaggery syrup
- water as required
How to Cook Kadalai Paruppu Payasam :
- To begin with, place a pan on medium flame, put chana dal and roast until it becomes golden brown in color. Then, transfer in a deep-bottomed pan along with enough water and let boil until tender.
- Likewise, boil washed sago until it turns translucent. Make sure to keep stirring the whole while in order to not to let sago stick to the bottom of the pan. Next, mash chana dal with the help of a spoon and keep aside.
- Now, combine sago, mashed chana dal along with jaggery syrup. Turn the flame to low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Keep stirring every now and then. Now, lastly pour coconut milk into the mixture. Stir again for another minute and sprinkle cardamom powder.
- Then, in a pan roast cashews and raisins till golden brown in colour. Garnish the payasam with roasted cashews and raisins.
