Ingredients to make Chicken Dhoa :
- Chicken 500gms
- one eyed Peas or lobia 1 + 1/2cup [soaked and boiled]
- Chopped Onions 4
- Chopped Tomatoes 2
- Tomato puree 1/2cup
- Green Chillies slit 4
- Whole spices 6-7 [Cardamom. cinnamon and cloves]
- Salt accordingly
- Turmeric powder 1 tsp
- Jeera powder 1tsp
- Water 4cups
- Coriander powder 1tsp
- Garam Masala powder 1tsp
- Red Chilli powder 1tsp
- Kashmiri mirch powder 1tsp
- Black Pepper powder 1tsp
- Dry Red Chillies 3
- Oil for frying
How to make Chicken Dhoa :
Fry the chicken in little oil in ahot pan, keep aside. This helps in sealing the chicken to keep its juices inside.
Now heat some more oil in the same pan, once heated enough, add dry red chillies and whole spices together .
Then add the chopped onions and saute till they are translucent and then add the tomatoes, cook further for few more minutes.
Add the powdered masalas, stir and then add the boiled lobia or one eyed pead. add required amount of salt and cook with a lid on, on a medium flame.
Now add the tomato puree, fried chicken and give it a good stir. cook further till everything is done.
Add adequate amount of water for the gravy.
Cook on a low flame with occasional stirring, add slit green chillies as well whilst this is cooking.
check for seasoning and serve hot with some coriander leaves garnished on top.
